Smile Blendmount - is good ?

Greetings,

Has anyone purchased and installed a BlendMount ? wondering if this and their corresponding MirrorTap works well long term.

I have never had issues with the suction cups on my Valentine 1 - but want something more, well blended into the overall interior aesthetics.

Oh, and this is part one of this quest for adding my Valentine 1 - thought better to have a separate post as to why I want (need) to do this.

Best,
Merlin

The Blendmount works exceptionally well, only downside is the price.

Last I looked this was still the case. Mine is hardwired above my mirror, very clean and barely noticeable.

I'm pretty sure they make one for every type (see link). I personally am not a fan... I think the V1 tucks up really nicely up high and out of the way on its own. The Blendmount just makes a bigger set of plastic stuff hanging there in the window. Also, no reason to do any tapping into the mirror. There is a really easy DIY to run the cable around the headliner and into the glovebox fusebox - ends up very clean.

I have blendmount and rain sensor still works. Rattles a bit but works well and beats suction cup. I have an escort smart radar with the small screen on the mirror.

It's great. Trust me. Worth the 90 or 100 bucks. I have one on my e93 M3... only issue is that the silly red clown nose hangs down a bit far and hits my Redline... so I put some felt between it and the detector.

Perfect fit and great quality!
I do not have yet, but strongly considering the MirrorTap.

Blendmount didn't work on my car with V1. I have the giant hump behind my mirror, not sure if thats the rain sensor or what.

The Blendmount works fine with the rain sensor, you just need to get reference BV1-2014 (2013 E92 M3). If you hard-wire your detector and run the cable around the windshield it makes for a very clean install.

I have had my V1 for about a month now, and just received my blendmount and wire tap in the mail yesterday. I was planning to install this weekend. Quick question for you guys??? Is there an advantage to hardwiring it around the windshield to the glove box? It seems intuitive that the wire tap in the rear view mirror would be easier to install rather then running a hardwire to the glove box? If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be helpful. Also, if anybody has pics or links on how to do either install, that would be awesome!

It fits rain sensor cars

It 100% fits rain sensor cars (I have it on my E93 with rain sensor now). It may NOT fit the cars with the auto high beam headlights (which have an add'l camera thingy in front of mirror).

I've had it on my M3 for about two years, no issues other than needing to tighten it for high G cornering. Rain sensor is no problem. Also bought one for my 1990 E32 but never got it to fit and have no idea where I put it.
