When does production end?

The dealership says this summer is the end, but I have seen the stories and posts that it ends in 2013. What gives?

No one knows for sure, but Matt Russell the head of BMW M North America said in an interview that the E92 would be here for 2013. So at least a partial MY13 run is expected if not a full year.

As mentioned earlier in an post related to E9x production dates ... the e9x M3 product year 2012 ends in June 2012 ... so if there is an production rum until August or September 2012, this mean an product year 2013 for sure ... but an very short one ... and as Scott quotes the E92 CRT (CRT-Package?) for 2012 production, this couls also meen that the E9x M3 ends in calender year 2012 ... as the E92 CRT could be the last produced cars - like it was the case with the E90 CRT.,

All I know for sure is that there will be a 2013 M3. Not sure about the
EOP date.

Does that mean a great time to buy an E92 is the end of this year because owners/dealership will start prepping up for the new 2014 M3?

History and rumors point to the fact that there will not be a 2014 M3. The next gen M3 will drop as a 2015 with the proto being displayed probably at Geneva about a year from now.

History,

No 2000 M3 between E36 and E46
No 2007 M3 between E46 and E9X

So when do you have your m3 set for delivery? Its a 2013 MY?

Yes, my dealer confirmed it will be a 2013 (model year), since it will be produced after this June.

I have to decide when to give the go ahead for production.

2012 looks to be the last current M3 year. 2013 can't be ordered as it does not exist right now.

Dealer told me April 2012 is the last month to order a E92 M3. Then they are hold until the new model comes out. He said the new model will be out in 18 months

Dealers know very little.
I talked to Matt Russell (BMWNA Head of ///M) two weeks ago, an he said there will absolutely be a 2013 ///M3 in E92 and E93 configuration.
