Launched a Watch Company!

Hey guys -

I wish I had featured my F80 in the video but we featured a Audi A8 instead

I launched a Kickstarter Campaign last night. We definitely need some support from any one of you who is looking to buy a unique wooden watch.

Here is the link: http://kck.st/1pYqsLF

The brand is called HIKARO and it is a modern industrial take on wooden watches. We were able to team up a friend who is a watch designer by trade in Switzerland.

Let me know your thoughts!

Would have been more interesting with a mechanical movement. Maybe that's just me though. Would have been more expensive though.

Yes - A mechanical movement would definitely be more expensive. At Baselworld, they just announced a new movement from Ronda which is an automatic called R150 which will be priced at 60 CHF which is very cheap! It definitely peaked my interest for my next variation.

Anyways, if you have any friends that may be interested, please tell them support us! We are trying to get fully funded so we can start our first production run. We'll get some pictures and video up with the M3/M4 to keep it a little bit more on topic as it is a m3 forum after all

What does "custome designed in switzerland" mean exactly? You drew up the blueprints for this watch in switzerland?

Nice. Wonder if there are different color hands to help make reading the time easier but still work well with the color schemes you've chosen.

Unfortunately, I have to stop with the watch buying for now. I just bought two watches from a Kickstarter campaign...Camber Watches. Had I not just buy these watches, I would definitely be interested. But I really like how you balanced out the cost with quality materials with the Swiss movement and Sapphire crystal in addition to the wood.

Good luck getting your campaign funded. I hope to be in the market for your next product launch.

Buyers of the "right handed" Panerai's would disagree. There are a handful of "right handed" watches. Usually, it is more about handedness, than a hard/fast rule of which wrist it should be worn on.

Thanks, glad you like it!

In my very first prototype, I did have issues with the lugs and the bezel.

We have addressed the issue by making the lugs slightly thicker and the bezel .5mm narrower and 2mm thicker.

We have also thought about making the inside of the lug - where the pin is metal.

It means that the design is not a copy of another design. It isn't a generic watch that is purchased off on Alibaba. The design had been thought through by me and in collaboration with a swiss watch designer (someone who design watches for high end swiss brands).
