Weak AC
Does anyone feel that the M3 AC is terribly weak. Even with the control on 67 and the wheel turned all the way to the left the car does not get cool, and it hasnt been hot yet.

Compared to the air conditioning I had in my 2 previous 335i's it is less as effective. I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'll have mine looked at if I feel its not up to the task this summer in south Florida.

Coming from a 1965 Impala with NO A/C... this A/C is literally the best I've ever had

I never felt this last summer, but this summer I've thought that the AC was not up to the task a couple of times! Of course, we're experiencing over 100F temps here atm!

I think the AC is extremely effective on mine. I usually crank max and then switch it to 65 degrees on auto once the cabin has cooled a bit. Even on 100 degree days she does an admirable job.

Have anyone changed the intesity levels. This makes a world of difference. I usually set mine at Medium to High. Press the auto button again and again to change it. On my Idrive, it shows the changes.

I find it weaker than my IS250. Maybe I need to adjust the intensity settings for auto mode.

My a/c seems to work well even in vegas as the temps break 100, but ive noticed that the recirculate button will not stay at the setting i last left it when i leave the car and come back. Anyone else having this problem? It not that big a deal but its kinda annoying.

I agree the AC is very weak. At every setting except the nearly intolerable max setting (due to the noise) the AC sucks. I find most American cars and trucks offer much stronger AC at both low and high settings. When it is 90 degrees or above and I am wearing nice business clothes I simply can't keep cool without using max and the seats cause me to sweat quite a bit as well. Did not notice the latter part much with my E36 M3. To improve things I shut off the flow to both the rear and passenger side, but it only helps, it does not let me report that the AC is good. I have a similar complaint with the heating as well. The flow just never gets to close as hot as in a normal American car or truck.
HVAC: Never been a strength of BMW. |
