Taking Delivery Today! New Garage Floor Ready

Taking delivery of my new e90 M3 today! Sept. production. Space Gray/blk with carbon leather, MT, and everything but a sunroof and the Cold Weather Package.

Over the last couple of weeks I prepped my garage so it would have a nice new home. Here are before and after pics, taken from different angles. (The before pic was after I pressure washed it so you can't see the cracks that were there.) The process was (1) pressure wash (2) degrease; (3) crack fill with epoxy; (4) sand; (5) etch; (6) pre-epoxy coat; (7) epoxy coat. Took a fair amount of work over several days, and total cost was about $700 for a ~900 sq. ft. garage. Now I just need to paint my garage...

I'm looking forward to parking my new M3 in it tonight!!!

Wow, nice! Where are your garbage cans? Where are the kids' bikes? Where are your golf clubs?

Thanks! This was taken about 12 hours after I finished. Before I put stuff back in. Looks the same now, but with a garbage can, some bikes, tool chest, and golf clubs.

Your list made me chuckle though, because I don't like a lot of clutter in the garage, so that's pretty much the full list of everything sitting on the floor. Everything else goes in the cabinets.

The process was a pain, but it really looks like a showroom floor now. I'm really pleased with the finish!

Looks fantastic. Even more impressive is that you did it yourself. Great job. Your new M will be very happy. Are all the lights on in that pic? Looks slightly dark in parts of the garage.

Thanks. I pick up the car at lunch. Not going to get a lot of work done this morning!

I took that pic at midnight, so that's just the lighting. It has consistent color. Makes my garage much brighter than it was because it is really glossy... looks wet and reflects light well. With a door up during daylight it is very bright.

Thanks man. Can't wait to drive it. 2 1/2 hours now. And yeah - everytime I see your signature I've thought that our cars are identical but for the transmission and moonroof.

I'll bring my camera to the dealership (Global Imports, in Atlanta) and take some photos. I'll post 'em in this thread tonight.

Can't wait to see some pics of the car!

Would you be able to list the names of the items you used for the garage? E.g. brand of epoxy and coat.

I was thinking of working on mine this weekend.

Me too. I'm gonna start by throwing away anything in the rafters that hasn't been used in the last five years.

Here it is... better pics later with car in garage! Going out to drive. I'll post the new ones in the correct forum...

And I already replaced the amber lenses (right after taking these)... :-)

Products used:

(1) A degreaser from Home Depot (I forgot the brand but it was industrial strength and came in a purple gallon container.)

(2) Norcrete Crack Filler
http://www.epoxysuperstore.com/store...products_id=70

(3) Etch N Clean - Cleaner and Etcher.
http://www.epoxysuperstore.com/store...=index&cPath=7

(4) Devoe Pre-Prime 167 - Applied before the Epoxy to seal and minimize likelihood of bubbles in final epoxy coat.

(5) Norklad 200 / 100% Solid Epoxy - Final coat, which is what you see.
http://www.epoxysuperstore.com/store...roducts_id=143

Other products used in application: floor sander, serrated squeegee (to spread correct amount of epoxy), rollers, and large broom to scrub floor after degreaser and etcher applied.

I bought them from IND. There is a person on this board - Nate - that you can help you. Or you can call their main number.

Also, here is a link to their site:

Great pics man! Enjoy the car. Where did you order the headlights and did the dealer swap them out?

Thanks for the list. Do you know if these things are available at home depot?

I only replaced the reflectors, other than that entire car is stock Sept. 2011 production.

As for epoxy, the stuff I used is 100% solids epoxy - not the painted on kind (water-based) that is typically sold at home depot. A few Lowes sell 100% solids epoxy, but it is hit and miss. Costco online does sell an identical product - epoxymaster, but it is more expensive than the material I purchased online from the site mentioned above.
