BEST 19' Rims for $1500 Total?

Hey Guys!

I've spent a good bit of money modding my beast already and just don't really want to spend MAD LOOT on some big 20's like I did on my 550i. Besides, I don't think 20's look very good on the M3. Rolling the fenders just isn't right IMO.

I am really kind of clueless as to which rims to get for my cheap ass budgetary constraints. I only have 6200 Miles on my original factory tires.

What do you you think? I want to keep my Murdered look for sure and black is my choice. Step lip isn't important but would consider if it looked good.

What I must have is:
  • Lighter than Stock
  • Equally strong as OEM or better

I am perfectly fine with my Stock 19' OEM Powder Coated rims now. But thought I'd throw this out there to see what kind of feedback I'd get. If there is nothing that would replace my current performance in this price range, its all gravy.

Thanks for your recommendations or thoughts.

How about these Forgestar wheels?:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ight=forgestar

They are lighter than OEM (http://bmw.pencilgeek.org/WheelsDB.html) and are said to be very strong.

The VMR line of wheels is hard to beat for the price. Check them out.

What's up brother? See you in two days.

I don't see how those look better than my current OEM's powder coated Satin?

Also-What brand is that? Are those VMR's?

You're describing your next set of ForgeStar wheels pretty much

Flow form casted = light weight and strength. This process is used by BBS, Enkei, RAYS, and Advan. Speaks for itself when some of the top wheel manufacturers in the world have been using this process for years. The ForgeStar difference is that they are custom made and the price point is incredible

Here is a set that we did for member, jlaw, Piano Black on Alpine White.

Be careful guys. Breyton has had some quaility control issues. The GTS-R wheels look good, but apparantly the strength and durability of this brand is somewhat questionable...

Yeah I think it's time you came by the shop again to make another visit

Since you're coming in two days, don't make a decision yet. I've got a few things that you might want to take a look at... Those Matte Black V713's are for sale

Hey Bro!

I was talking to Richard (RADZ) about going up to SLO for the Annual E60.Net Meet. Are you going to?

What do those VMR Rims weigh? And feel free to PM me a price.

Both the Forgestar and VMR rims look good to me.

Please post some links to these quality control issues.

I have never heard anything bad about Breyton. Only thing is their previous wheels were very heavy. But their new wheel lines are actually very light.

The VMR is heavy as far as I heard. My buddy got a set of VMR 710 and its heavy. But they sure do looks awesome. The Forgestar cost a tiny bit more than the VMR, but it weight less.

I'll check my schedule for the E60 meet, but I've heard about it so it's in consideration

The V710's are roughly 25lbs give or take a 1/2lbs.

V713's are going to be around the same weight as well, but if you come down here, we can weigh them in front of you with the tires to see which set up you would rather have in terms of weight.

Sent you a PM too

VMR lists their V710 and V713 wheels at 25.5lbs and 27.0lbs. I doubt they are 25.0lbs. Please provide customers with accurate information.

To the OP, if you want light and strong wheels, VMR is not the way to go. I`ll check Forgestar based on your budget.

I have the Foregstar F14s - they are great wheels don't get me wrong but they are not the strongest around. I've only had it for a month, did a trip up to new york city and went out on the track and my right front wheels bent slightly causing vibration when I drive right about 60mph... I suspect I must have bent it when I was up in New York city.

Honestly speaking, you're not gonna get fantastic wheels for 1500 or less.. It is also a downgrade from our forged 19" wheels which are terribly strong. But then again, if your going for the looks, and especially if you are in this board, it's so tempting to get an aftermarket wheel.

I'm probably gonna fix the foregstars when I get back after summer, but if I could do it all over again - save up and wait it out.. and buy a set of forged wheels.

For $1500 you are better off keeping your original OEM wheels because anything less will be a step back.. You are trying to find better wheels for half the price of the OEM wheels
