Street. What's the RE & AD (first 2) tires you're talking aboot? I already said earlier that I have 2 sets of 359's. 1 for track PSS no problems. 2 for DD traditionally I've used PS2's and the wear is fast which sucks for DD. I do not need the tacky qualities of Michelin for DD. My main 2 desired features are ride quality/comfort & mileage for less than $200 a piece if possible.

Dave
Conti DWS do come in that size. 13K miles so far and I've still got the "S" on the rears. Quiet. Compliant. Perfectly acceptable (to me) for spirited street service.

I've just ordered a set of Michelin AS/3+ for the colder months, $950 shipped. Reviews on wear seem pretty favourable from tire rack. I don't DD though so when it snows I don't go out anyway. Will run my PS4S in summer for more spirited driving, sounds like you can do the same.

Greetings,

I need to add to this thread, I just had PS2's installed (staggered), prior to the Michelin's I ran two complete sets of Pirelli's. Each set was used to about 15K miles, I now have just over 30K on the car.

Been driving with the Michelin's for about 3 weeks now and the difference has been amazing to me . One thing about the Pirelli's is that the rears did not wear well , likely from spirited driving and the torque being applied when do aggressive starts and shifts. Also the wet driving with Pirelli's was awful ! - I live in the Pacific Northwest and rain is a constant component of daily driving. The PS2's are excellent in the rain, even wet roads with leaves and pine needles scattered about, I still don't spin the tire's - the grip is really good. Not sure what magic additives Michelin puts in their tires , but there's clearly a secret recipe to making tires like these.

I will never go back to the Pirelli's and will replace the PS2's again or perhaps run PSS on a separate set of ZCP rims (not yet acquired).

Cheers,
Merlin

From cheaper/daily to less cheap/more sticky:

Hankook Evo2
Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
Conti ECS
Michelin PSS or PS4S

I agree! Michelin is a great tire from the performance side but that comes at a fast wear rate. PSS is probably the best tire I've ever used.

I just got new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S + installed today and wow, what a tire. Incredibly quiet so I can hear that beautiful V8 more clearly. Great handling so far...and the treadwear expectancy is much better than strict summer tires. The extremely positive online reviews sealed the deal for me and so far I’m very happy.

What's the cost per tire mounted and balanced? Or for two or four if you can't breakdown?

I shopped around quite a bit...paid just under $1k all in for all 4. I have the comp pkg with 19” staggered wheels.

Me too, sidewalls seem slightly softer than my PS4S but grip and steering feel is excellent. If not tracking or auto x, I suspect these could be run all year round and you wouldn't miss extreme performance summers much. Not sure how they would hold up on a spirited summer drive with a lot of heat in them, but I suspect pretty well. Cant really go wrong with Michelins!

I ran a couple sets of Conti DWS on my 330Ci and one set of Hankook V12s. NEVER AGAIN.

What is the point of having a precision machine shod with piece of shit tires?

My M3s either get track tires or PSS and now the PS4s. It's completely non negotiable.

Agreed 100%

But I guess some people don't strive for the best, they settle on mediocre/average. They might as well drive a mediocre / average car.

Go buy a 335/328/325/3xx if you want to put shit tires on.
