Grip increase from running wider (255/275) tires? How much?
I was wondering if anyone had input on how much of an increase (in "g) in grip from switching to slightly wider tires?
It's common to upsize from a 245 fr / 265 rr width to 255/275 or even 255/285. Assuming the same car, suspension and tire model, how much of a quantifiable gain could this result in? Aside from the increased rolling resistance and added tire weight, are there any other drawbacks? Thanks.

I can't tell you in Gs , but I run 255 and 295 on ZCP wheels and it makes a BIG difference , the rear wheels has a lot more grip in acceleration and in cornering ! As for the extra weight(lost of power) , I don't feel it !
