DCT GTS Tune
i've got a 2010 m3 dct and I have a question about the tuning software. My issue with car is when in S5 mode when I floor it, it hesitates and then lurges untill engaging... It;s really weird. I had a fully tuned 335 before I got the M3 and that car would scream as soon as i floored it.
So my question is, as far as any of the dct tunes are they more for comfort and smooth shifting, or do they address the issue I have of the car taking too long to engage and go after wot?

Is the Power button engaged? I don't have an issue, but I also have the BPM GTS DCT tune.

If your engine software is older and does not match the DCT software loaded, you can have issues like this and burn the clutches out under more extreme conditions.

Mine was similar, it felt like I was burning the clutch each time I went WOT and had the transmission downshift on its own. Now with a more updated DCT tuning software (I actually have an Evolve GTS-DCT file that was included with my Evolve ECU file), downshifts happen crisp (you could call it slightly harsh when you go WOT suddenly and it needs to drop from 7 to 2) without the feeling of burning up the clutches.
If you want it with an ECU file, Evolve includes it (or at least used to, I can't confirm if they still do) with their basic package. However, all three major tuning (Evolve, BPM, ESS) offer it. If you don't want an ECU file, Alex@Alpine can supply you with a 240E engine upgrade along with a GTS-DCT file that virtually eliminates that burning out the clutch feeling on a WOT downshift. I'm not sure what the specifics are in GTS-DCT tune files, but they should be similar, but I'm sure each have their own specific differences.

You're better off going with a tune of your choice which would likely include the update and other goodies as well.
