What does a FBO M3 run?

Without throwing a charger on the M3 with just exhaust, tune, intake and am I missing anything else that you can do to an M3 for power?

Anyways what do they run in the 1/4?

High 11's- low 12's if I'm not mistaken, assuming you are referring to 1/4 mile times. DR's would help also.

More expensive and slower than your FBO 335i...Thinking of making the switch?

Yep, thinking I may part out my 335i and get a 09 M3 do all bolt on mods and then come March slap a ESS VTT 650 on it

LOL. Not to derail this thread but I switched from a FBO 2010 e92 335i about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier.

If the plan is to go SC in 6 months then I'd just get a catback exhaust, suspension, cosmetics and interior stuff taken care of then get the SC and tune together so you aren't spending money on parts you will only have for a short term.

SC M3 is a whole new level, Im sure you will be satisfied even coming from a FBO 335i...

I had modded 335's before making the switch as well, I miss the neck snapping torque, but like you, couldn't be happier with the over all driving experience of my M3.

If you guys rated a 335i coupe with sport suspension from 1-10 on how it handles. What would you rate a stock M3 suspension from 1-10?

I really need to go drive one but there are none around me, yet

I will be getting a DCT, but what is this ZCP package?

335i: 3-4
M3: 7-8

You will NOT be disappointed with the DCT. It racks off gear changes stupid fast. Made the Aplina TCU flash seem slow. Add the GTS DCT flash and its

Will respond to your PM in a few.

After driving a 335is with stage II dinan for 3 seasons, I was able to take a M3 for a extended test drive without a pesky salesman tagging along and slowing me down.

I ordered one that day and am trading the 335is for a 2013 M3 next month when it finally arrives at my dealer.

If the suspension on the M3 is a 9 or 10 then the 335is with sport suspension is half that. 5 or 6.

The M3 is way more fun to drive in every way and if you let the motor rev it seemed considerably faster then the 335.

Yes, I also came from a jb4 w/ meth 07 335i and I love driving the m3 way more; it's my DD too and along with the awesome s65 power delivery, it just feels more special to drive compared to the 335.

Came from a JB4 G5 ISO w/ E50 & Methanol, I couldn't be happier with the switch.

That being said, there's no denying the neck-snapping pull of having 150TQ more between 3,000-5,000rpm from a basic tuned, non-FBO 335i, but you forget about those things when you rev the M3 beyond 5,000rpm and hear that V8 howl above 8,000rpm to redline (in my case, my uprated rev limiter @ 8,600rpm, sounds amazing, not your traditional V8 rumble, a smooth & brassy V8 howl)

Make the switch man, you'll never look back. M3 is a very "linear" car in terms of both power delivery and traction. Power with a supercharger comes on smooth and the traction (depending on tires of course) breaks away smoothly as well. Idk your driving skills but I know for me this car still offers a very high ceiling in terms of learning and driving pleasure

Other than ESS what are the other charger options?

Im seeing what my good friend who buys and sales cars will do for me on my car. Ill probably stick with the 335i til the M4 comes out and people start selling their M3s a lot cheaper but I do have the cash to convert over now

Having owned two FBO 335i Coupe's personally, the M3 is a far superior car when it comes to power delivery and driving dynamics as a whole. The 335i begins to fall in power in the upper rev ranges, where the s65 M3 comes to life and loves to be revved. The 335i definitely feels fun and easy to drive on the street because of the low end torque available, but a true performance car does not live at 1500-4000 RPM.

For what it's worth, my personal M3 dyno's 404 RWHP on a DynoJet on 91 octane with just a full motorsport exhaust system and custom software.

So you're saying a tune and exhaust is good for about 400rwhp?

No, I am sharing what my car did with a tune and motorsport grade exhaust. I have seen higher numbers and lower numbers than that before as well with other M3's.

Most M3's put down high 380's to very low 400's with a full exhaust and a tune. You will also find that a lot of e9X M3's put down different numbers on different days of the week. I've never seen a platform do this like the S65 does. Weird

Full Exhaust- $2500-3000
Tune- $900-1000

$3500= 400rwhp

You could always go the test pipe route and save $1500-1800 or so

Whats up with ESS website and the stock dyno numbers Im seeing. 320rwhp?
http://www.esstuning.com/productimag...rrent_image=12

And 460 seems pretty low for having a supercharger if 400rwhp is attainable with exhaust and tune roughly
