Will M3 have Runflats??

Hmm. Not sure what problems Roundel had, but there are tons and tons of folks who've switched to non-funflats on their 335s and 328s and the results are almost 100% positive.

I used mine once. What a mess. It didn't work, and just made a mess of the rim.

Better off just calling BMW Assist, to get the truck out.

that is good to hear about the run flats. I suppose the suspension would have to be awfully sensitive to display negative effects by changing between run flats and normal tires, no?

M3 will not have run flats. I've just changed 2 on my 320. I was going to change to normal but i researched it and found that using normal tyres increases breaking distances in wet & dry conditions and also can affect the warranty.

Hi, I just got a new '07 335i. It came with RFT (I have a '00 330i before that did not have them). I was wondering if anyone can tell me in detail why reg tires are better then RFT (weight, stiffness?). Also as I have only 1000 miles on these tires does anyone know of a cheap way to swap them for a non RFT set? I'm sure mine have to be worth 150 a pop (at least). Lastly, I was thinking about removing my spare, as it only adds weight and I have AAA and since its a lease service from BMW.

P.S. I bought the tire/rim package when leasing the car. Does anyone know if they replace the tires from weare or just damage (On my 330 I had stock low profiles and every time I hit a large pot hole I got a bubble on the wall). I do know sales guy told me they dont cover damage if the wall is "slashed". I drive a lot in the NYC tri-state area and as residents know, these roads suck. They are not meant for a BMW (not to mention with a sports package), I'd be more worried about breaking my suspension from a huge pot hole then tire/rim.

Yes, I've used my kit on two occasions (..both times due to nail punctures), and it worked very well. It secretes an industrial grade adhesive to seal the tire. The adhesive is strong, and will begin to eat the inside of the tire over time, so make sure to get the tire plugged as soon as possible. You can purchase more adhesive from the service dept. at the dealership.

FYI: Your resident tire guy will hate you (...just like mine did...LOL!) because they have to clean out the inside of the tire/wheel, and it's messy.
