I'll add more if something comes to mind. Feel free to ask any questions. PRICE DROP!!!! $18,000 *** Here is an email I responded to. It may answer some questions for any other folks. So the rod bearing recall was done by BMW as well as the sub-frame check. The sub-frame check was actually done twice at two different places (I'm a little OCD). One place was the dealership (which shows up on the service records and one was at a very well respected indy shop in Denver, Colorado (BimmerHaus) both places showed no issues. I am the third human to own the vehicle. I say third human because the Carfax and Autocheck (I ran both) showed something ridiculous like 7-8 owners. They show this because they also show a bunch of manufacturer buybacks. It actually pisses me off a bit because it makes it look as if there are issues with the car even though there are not. I have the ALL of the dealer records from when the car was new until now (just got them a few weeks ago) and the records show that there was ONE dealer buyback. The BMW records show that this was done for a few little things such as, rear shelf makes creaking noises, etc. Which is a plus because it shows that the first owner was nit-picky as well. So far as accidents are concerned there was one. When I bought the car the previous owner showed me a scrap on the rear drivers side bumper. he said it was while he was stopped at a traffic light and the guy behind him tried to turn out of the through lane into the left turning lane and scraped the bumper. I actually got $250 dollars off because I told him I would fix it myself (which I never got around to doing). It's light enough that you can't see it in the high resolution pics I put up on Flickr. I have all of the service records for anything done either at the dealership of at the indy shop (BimmerHaus). Service 1 & 2 were done at the BMW suggested mileages. The only factory part I have left is the hood. All the rest were sold. RTABs may or may not have been done, that is to say Inever really looked. but the car still has really tight handling. Current mileage on the odometer is 109,086. The oil will need to be changed in the next 1000 miles (I change it every 3000 miles - Castrol 10W-60). Clutch is still running strong with no signs of letting up. There are no cup holders (some people have to have them) because I never allow any liquids in the car (except bottled water with a cap). And definitely no food (gum is okay though). If we ever got take-out it went into the trunk until we got home, that way the car didn't smell. PRICE DROP!!!! $18,000 Last edited by halfbent; 08-13-2012 at 01:30 PM.. |

Depending on who you go through, it is generally in the $1000-1500 range to ship.
