"Mazda revealed today at the Australian International Motor Show first images of the all-new Mazda3 (known as Mazda Axela in Japan). Fully redesigned for the first time in 5 years, the Mazda3 will make its public debut in the sheet metal at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19, 2008.
Making up one-third of all Mazda sales totaling 1.8 million units worldwide since 2003, the Mazda3 is a pillar in Mazda's product plan. Therefore, it's no surprise that the new Mazda3 has nicely adopted the same design language from its well received Mazda6 sibling which debuted in Frankfurt last year. Despite the overall design similarities, the Mazda3 differentiates itself with a more aggressive front and rear bumper design. The new Mazda3 sedan will be presented in North American specification with 2.0- and 2.5-liter engines in Los Angeles. Mazda vaguely hints that the five-door hatchback version will be revealed soon thereafter."

Looks goooooood!!! So much flow. I'm a sucker for flow. Everything looks much more upscale too, another plus. Should be a big seller. I always like the Mazda3 more than the Mazda6 too.

Oh and that lower character line has new-age Audi written all over it, but whatever, I like it!

i've always thought the Furai racer car was ugly as hell... yet transferring those design concepts onto the 6 and now 3 have actually worked. you can tell that the cars have been influenced by Mazda's recent crazy concepts. It looks great. Good job by Mazda.

wow it looks amazing. My sister was looking into getting the new Mazda 6 but I'll have her take a look at the new 3.
I always thought the current 3 looked nice but a bit plain (except for the Speed 3). With its new fender flares and lines it looks the just right amount of sporty now. |

I think the 6 looks bland but this 3 looks good because of its smaller proportions. It's hard to really fault the car at all because it has so much design consistancy.
