Canon 5D Mark III

I have a feeling though with all these improvements, the price will be higher than the D800.

Still a rumor but they talk about 3500 USD for the Mark III and 3000 USD for the D800.

The announcement was scheduled tomorrow if I remember correctly?

Its not bad actually, I sent a box there two days ago and it cost me just a couple bucks more to ship the same box using the same option to CA and Cyprus.

Costs me $17 for Cyprus instead of $12 for California both for airmail; not that bad.

No, that's not bad at all. Try shipping to/from GB. It's pricey as hell.

there is a headphone socket on the camera, hopefully that's a sign that the video features will be the same as the 1Dx. :\

I think 1080p and 3x3 binning seems to be the guesses for now.

Sorry, no hot pink for you rodi

I like everything except the 22MP. I guess they're aiming at their video market with this camera.

This pixel density is way lower than the 7D and the 1D X is even lower density (aimed at sports photographers). I wish that they'd aim a FF camera at wildlife photogs others that want maximum detail, without sacrificing noise too much.

I may have to buy a 1D MkIV before they discontinue it.

If I didn't have so much already invested in Canon lenses, I'd be seriously considering the D800.

but Dave, it's so easy to sell Canon/Nikon lenses at near their market price. I paid $1600 new for a Nikon 24-70 and sold it for $1550.

I have a friend who might be interested, depending on the condition and price.

True, but Canon super-tele selection blows Nikon out of the water.

Maybe I'm waiting for the 7D MkII, then I wouldn't have to trade up to a 600mm lens to match a FF body better. (BTW, it looks like I can sell my 500mm for what I paid for it).
