Interesting setup, pulls in air from over the radiator, and then down below near intakes either side of the front bar?

They could have used a better photographer for the pics, looks like someone took them with their camera phone.

true, but while a SC sounds good, it will never sound something like that under throttle.

Have seen this in real life and spoken to the developer.

It looks quite nice, it's a lot of carbon fibre. It has a throttle flap to change over from the longer runners to the shorter path to generate low-midrange torque. Similar concept to the variable inlet tract of the E34 M5. Of anyone has owned one of those you know how much difference it makes when the variable inlet flap stops working.

It is very cost prohibitive given that there are really not any dyno tests nor any real world performance stats.

Looks nice, but damn, for $5,335, I think I could buy a used SC set-up and have WAY more power. lol

No kidding. When I had my E34 M5 I couldn't believe how much of a difference that little flap makes. Pretty amazing. But for this price, I would have to say my money would go to a S/C.

Fixed many a flap on the E34! Always makes the customer smile after wards.

I guess this carbon fibre intake is really for those who want to stay NA.

Would still like to see more data on it.

As I stated Alpha-N is still working on the Airbox. It looks promising. Their carbon airboxes are usually of very high quality. Should be available in September. Here some photos:

P.S. The second photo is not the final version. It is still undergoing testing and dyno runs.

^^ hideous. Have fun paying a bunch of money to lose power by sucking in hot engine air.

It is not as if they are making an airbox for the first time. They already have quite a good reputation for their products and I doubt that they don't know what "hot air" and that it no bueno. So relax and wait for the results.

I've also asked one of the guys there about that issue especially on the left side, but he said that they are still testing and if there is the need to change something, they will certainly do it.

Apart from that their carbon airbox is autoclaved! Something which you can't find that easy.

I don't have anything to do with them. I'm just sharing the information I have, because this might be the first intake system for the E9x M3 which offers real power gains, apart from the sound.
