Can you install the new performance cf shift knob in an e9x?
Theres a new performance carbon fiber shift knob out for the f30 and f10 but it looks identical to the old performance knob just in carbon fiber. Does anyone know if this could be installed in an e9x M or if theres any reason why it wouldnt be compatible?
Here's the knob http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...3842&perf=true Thanks. Last edited by MEMMEZZ; 07-27-2012 at 02:23 PM.. |

I am pretty sure you can. It is just a simple pull out and clip in procedure. I was under the assumption that all 6mt knobs can be interchanged through the fleet.

Would just depend on how it attaches.

well when you select the M3 in the drop down on top of the pic, it says it won't fit. On Tischer, it's categorized as the "next generation" performance part for the F30.
But I'm interested, I really like this. If someone can confirm, I'll buy this in a heartbeat. I bet it'll fit E9X cars.... This is what the M3 stock shifter stem looks like, we just need a picture of this knob's base to gauge if it's the same connection, but for it to light up (if it's an option) you may need to cut some wires. I suggest posting this question on the general E90 forum, there are many more members there that swap out shift knobs than here http://www.e90post.com/forums/index.php Last edited by mdosu; 07-27-2012 at 06:33 PM.. |

Not a fan of it at all... looks ricey, like it should be in a slammed Civic or something.
I'm not sure why anyone likes that form either since it is not ergonomically correct for the human hand. I'd say go for it though if you're a robot.
