800 tells me my car was arrived at the port on Sep 25th, and is still waiting for a vessel!!

Car finished production on Sep 16th. Made it to the port on the 20th (at least that's the day I checked the 800 number and was told it was there so it may have made it there by the 19th?). Was loaded onto the Endurance which left the port on the 23rd. The Endurance is supposed to arrive at the Port of Baltimore tomorrow, Oct 5th.

I talked to my CA last night and he did confirm BMW/EPA is holding certain '12 cars for emissions testing. He's going to call today to try and find out how many cars are going to be held - he currently has a 5 series and M3 conv being held for testing.

He said if my car is not held for testing then it typically takes one calander week for the car to be processed at the VPC and shipped to the dealer.

I'm in Germantown, MD.

My car is one of the cars being held for testing I think. My CA also said that they weren't releasing ANY 2012 vehicles from VPC's until October and mine got there 9/22.

I think that the exact release date is Oct 15th.

Maybe so, which if true would suck because I wanted to take delivery this friday, but I guess I have to wait until my scheduled PCD date of Nov. 1st; which tacks on another 4 weeks

Technic will always be the first to drive his MY2012.. but I may be the second when I pick up on Oct 17th

- I was hoping to take delivery around that time.

In the end I guess there was no advantage to having a PW 36, or earlier, if all of our cars are stuck at the VPC until the 15th.

CA just told me my car finally shipped today, will hit US on OCT 15th.

Most probably the EPA 2012 certification will be done and received by BMW before Oct 15th; Oct 15 looks to be just the latest date.

zhouzitao, so your car was at the port on the 25th and you got on the Carmen? <Sigh> I was a the port on the 22nd and all indicators are still showing my car at the port, and neither my dealer nor BMWNA has been any help. I guess I'll just wait patiently until it magically shows up in Baltimore, if that ever happens... seriously longest wait of my life... argh.

But congrats to you all that have cars verified en route. So close for you guys now.

so how do you know what boat its on? Does the bmwusa website tell you? there is a little tracker there but not sure if it just says it has shipped or if its specific enough to name the ship its on.

Yous should be able to get the shipping info from your CA.
