Using your reasoning, just buy a bmw 320 diesel and throw some M3 badges on it. Fake things are for fake people, just buy a nice seiko if you can't afford the real thing. I don't mean any disrespect to you personally.

thanks. it seems so small compared to my other watches. i have a lot of watches but nothing too spendy. usually wear my tw steel and nixon. seadweller is kind of an old man watch but its a classic look and works with everything.

agreed its a small watch, but super nice nonetheless. for size you gotta go with the Deep Sea Sew Dweller, but that carries a 10k price

that was what i intended to get but the case is also so damn tall. it looked awkward when on so i went with the original instead. big watch trend wont last forever. that being said i have my eye on the panerai 422 or 423 which isnt out yet or last years 372.

Seriously? I guess I'm not worthy. Maybe if I had a 2011 POINT 5 E92 I would understand.

BBK or Panerai

I had that Black Seal. I must say you will probably get tired of winding it every time you put it on. That was one of the reasons I got rid of it. I currently own a few other Panerais but I made sure they had at least a 3 Day Power Reserve.

No using my reasoning - if there was a car that looked identical to an M3, performed the same as an M3 and cost $3000 rather than $60,000 then yes I would buy it.

Having said that - a well balanced person who has the cash and the interest to buy a $10,000 watch, who is pleased with his purchase and keeps it to himself is fine with me but people who instead say "Fake things are for fake people" are probably people with a small penis.

Fake is fake is fake is fake...If you are purchasing, wearing a fake IWC it means you like the real thing, if you can't afford or don't want to spend the money, get a seiko, citizen, bulova, u-boat etc... Would you put on fake bbs lm's on your car? The small penis comment sounds like something a little kid would say...If you're trying to take this to a different level...I'm not going there...I just can't imagine wearing anything fake, I can't afford some of my "dream"watches, I would never imagine paying for a fake one and flaunting it as if I paid $50,000 for a watch when it was $500... That's all

I'm not a watch guy but I like the IWC (I have a Panerai 036 as well) - the replica looks identical, keeps perfect time and it costs a sensible amount of money. I quite happily tell anyone (that is interested) thats its a fake, doesn't worry me in the slightest.
What is greatly amusing is how uptight "some" gen watch owners are about reps. Its like they are personally insulted that someone has a rep - why do you care so much?

I'd prefer it not look identical, but yeah, same here. I bought an M3 (used) because nothing else fit all my needs & wants while performing as well.

If you have tinted headlights or taillights, please don't get a Panerai, go with a TW Steel or U-Boat, you'll be much happier, as will the rest of us with Panerais already...

$500!?? That's way too much for a fake! I have a fake Rolex Sub Mariner ($100) and side by side with my buddy's real one... can't tell the difference. And I don't "flaunt" it. I simply wear it. I would never spend that much money on the real thing. It's a watch. A watch.

That said, the M3 is a $50k car. I spent $45k on mine with 17k miles on the clock. Brand fucking new and already broken in. There's no way I'm spending 70+ on one. There's spending money in a smart way and then there's just pissing money away because you... can?

Whatever floats your boat man. Different strokes make the world go round.

G-Shock and the BBS's. I'm sticking with my original advice!

Wow, I really couldn't disagree with this more. Let's use a car analogy (what the hell, it's a car forum...): You're only a car guy if you're buying cars in the top 1% of price (e.g. Aston, Lambo, Ferrari etc.)? You aren't a car guy if, for example, you're like my buddy and built up a vintage car from the ground up? That's probably only worth $50k, but he cared enough to do it all himself? Or you own Miatas and race them, or your vintage Mustang is your dream car?

Buddy, you're both watch guys if you care - you simply are willing to spend more money on yours.

Cheers
