Really though, a definite cool feature! Seeing this feature first hand on another E90 M3 awhile ago, it still takes a nice finesse of the throttle to get a solid launch. As you said, it really does make things a bit easier to launch. A fun perk to your tune for sure!

It was known to be done a long...long time ago by AA.
Good post thoroughly explaining how it works. Mike, are you able to edit launch control RPM and slip points/values in SMG software for E46 M3? I loaded CSL software but would not want it to be 5k more so around 4200rpm. |

A question regarding this: You preset the rev limit value on the software, so I can not change it on the fly right? If you preset it at 4000rpm and I think I can launch higher, I can not change it my self, like the guys on DCT? Will be contacting you in exactly 2 weeks!

I started with mine set at 3500. I felt the RPMs dipped too low at the point of launch so Mike emailed me two additional tunes for a 4000 and 4500 rpm launch. I found the 4000 worked best for me. It takes about 5 min and a laptop to switch tunes.

1 quick question.
gonna try bpm launch control on 3500 rpm. but heres the thing. sometimes i just wanna rev my car while waiting for the signal light. but if launch control is added in the feature will it always stop the rpm at 3500 on 1st gear? or is there anyway to pass 3500? thx |
