Vibration on a set of new Rims+tires
I just picked up a set of 18" winter tires and wheels (18x8.5/9.5). At high speeds I could feel my steering wheel shake/vibrate. I'm guessing the rims might be slightly bent or something. The manufacturer has agreed to send me a new set of rims.
In the mean time is it okay for me to keep driving with these wheels? (under the condition that my steering wheel is shaking/vibrating at high speeds) Would it damage my car in any way? Thanks guys. |

What tires and rims did you get? I purchased the 18" from BMW (Michelins on M3 Rims) and I also have a bad vibration at any speed over 125km/hr. I have no issues at lower speed. I have been keeping the speeds low until I get it checked out, but I noticed it as soon as I switched to winters with these rims. Let me know what you find out.

It definitely seems like a balancing issue, just go to the shop you installed the wheels at and tell them it vibrates. They should rebalance the wheel/tire for free.
