Nice video, some shots are new.

Should be in the Video section, though. Mover, please

Best regards, south

Sheesh, did they purposefully leave out any trace of sound when shifting the M-DCT? Sure seems so to me, what a bummer. I am starving for more M-DCT information. Well just the sound of the shifts and a detailed IRL test I guess.

Hears the sound of a dual clutch gearbox going through the gears.

But for me the best example is this one

swamp I know all of these are Audi/VW DSG versions and not BMW's M-DCT but like I have said numerous times before but in the way they change gear all of these boxes are very similar.

Yes I know (maybe footie as well). Look at the internals of the DSG and the video that animates the internals of the M-DCT, nearly identical. I do think that Getrag used Borg Warner technology inside this box as well. This was alluded to in press releases from Borg. I'd be willing to be all dual clutch boxes look awfully darn similar inside, just like MTs do.

All that being said what I want to hear is the ENGINE noise during a WOT shift with M-DCT. You can't "hear" a transmission.

Will I let you into a little secret. Audi use both suppliers for their DSG gearboxes, so chances are the technology in both are identical.

P.S.
This does not mean that the M-DCT gearbox is identical but it's highly likely the similarities between the two are more than just a passing resemblance. It's the software that the real differences are to be as each company have their own request and requirements for the technology. But the actual shift itself will be basically the same I can assure you.
