When you say "remap" do you mean tune the engine?

I'm trading my 2010 E90 for a new 2011 E90 in 6 weeks time and i am probably going to have the new car remapped - an extra 20 hp or so should be noticeable and more importantly the removal of the top speed limiter will be nice as i live in Germany and can use it on the autobahn.
The thread below has a few reviews from people who have the 'evolve' tune on their car and the general concensus is that a genuine difference can be felt from 4K RPM to redline and most people like the tune. This is worth £600 to me. Let us know what you decide! http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=1#post9881440

With a remote tune like the 'evolve' tune you can switch between the tune and the factory ECU settings - if you have a problem then switch back to the factory settings before taking it to the garage. All decent tuning companies will sell their tunes with their own warranty as well which they will honour in the rare case of a manufacturer declining a warranty claim.

This is what i have just bought to go with my Evolve Exaust and its supposed to be the best by far!
ANd if you have to put the car to bmw you can always put it back to std and then re-install it when you get your car back!! Quote:

Sorry abit of topic, do you leave your exhaust on the car when you take your car into BMW since it's still under warranty or not bother with it??
Regarding the remap, definetly a good modification |

I will have a service in december or so and don't plan to take it off for them. I am close to being off warranty anyway but am not too worried if I do have a claim on my warranty I will have to pay if its exhaust related but if my engine blows its gonna be pretty hard to prove it was the modifications fault.

Ah cool, however if the engine went( touch wood) would they not try to relate it or you just going with the flow if worse happened? Are you planning on extending your warranty? Sorry for the questions but I'm trying to decide what to do with warranty on mine and want to see others that have modified theres opinion . |

i currently have a poll going on that subject about extending the warranty or getting rid of the car. i personally am going to keep my car without warranty and hope all is okay. i really dont forsee me blowing an engine. it could happen but i love the car and dont think its a very big possibility at all.

Ah ok cool, well I don't think the m3 engines that weak either and should be fine. I'm just abit worried as I've had 6engines in my last 2 years of driving but they where tuned Japanese cars.
I'm still tempted to buy a years warranty while modiflying it slightly incase my luck carrys on, but depending if by changing suspension and the engine goes and that voids it then I'll need to just hope for the best. Cheers and sorry off topic |

Kris I think it's around 35-40bhp with your exhaust, can't remember exactly but it a much better power band and you can have the option of cel light delete and top speed delete too.
I'm going to order my cable on monday, maybe get a twin discount |

removal of the top speed limiter is cool but to date i have not found anywhere to try this out. would love to get all 180 out of the car but no track has long enough straight around here and cops are kind of picky about passing them at triple the legal limit.
