Does the iDrive play .avi files?

Hi there

I was wondering if the iDrive system will play .avi files via the USB port. It would be great to watch downloaded Top Gear episodes while waiting for the kids at school!

I tried playing some .avi files off a data DVD and it did not work; I had some .avi files on a USB stick and I did not see a way to navigate to the files to play and iDrive did not automatically bring them up to play. The iDrive/CIC info does not list any video files as compatible other than DVDs. My guess is the system will not recognize them, but perhaps in time someone will figure out a way to tweak the O/S.

Many thanks for your reply. I did try to play a .avi off a USB stick but with no luck.
