3 series leather

I was peeping a friends 2011 328i and noticed how lower quality of a leather BMW equips it with. I always knew we had better leather than the 3's (and harder to maintain) but wow this light leather does not hold up to well from what I saw.

Mind you I'm not sure how much care they give it but still this car has 1800 miles on it where as my bamboo beige interior is so top notch and I have 17,600 miles.

It was probably leatherette, man made synthetic vinyl. Actual leather is an upgrade.

It probably was leatherette which I found in my old car to be very durable and without issues. Not particularly attractive though.

also, "Dakota" leather is very textured and looks a bit like vinyl. Some might even say that it is not much better than the leatherette...

The novillo leather on the M models is more like what you would find on a Coach Purse, or briefcase.

Dakota feels cheaper, thicker & more textured compared to Novillo. Not sure yet but it seems that Dakota may be less susceptible to wear & tear over time as well.

Novillo holds up great IF cared for properly. Use zaino or similar cleaner with wet microfiber every couple days to give it a quick wipedown. Keeps the leather scent forever if you use zaino as it smells like a new car. Also wipe the wheel down every couple days. This will keep everything looking brand new

Novillo has such a great smell and a nice feel. My favorite out of all the BMW leathers.

What are they putting in the new 6er, is it still Meriono? The previous E63 it didn't suit the car I felt but in test driving a new 6 it had a much better feel than the before.

I hated the Dakota on the e9x and e60s. Feels sooooo cheap. They should've stuck with the e39 leather, much better

7-series and 6-series have Merino, which is nicer.

Novillo is more prone to wear and is softer than the standard leather.

But I love it !

Just make sure your jeans don't have buttons before getting in my car.

what is the diff between merino, nappa and novillo? I know they are different but in what way?

Dakote was a joke. Especially in some people who got it in a aubern color, it looked like a basketball

Fuck the durability, I am willing to put some more care in and take some wear to enjoy nice soft leather. Dakota felt like vinyl
