Rod bearing replacement around Seattle
Getting close to 60k on stock bearings and would like to get these replaced for peace of mind. Wondering if anybody knows any shop experienced with these replacements.

I was quoted around 2200 at AR auto service in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
I'm not sure if you've searched this in our region yet but it has kinda been discussed for Southern Washington to Northern Oregon here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1290689 I know you were talking about around Seattle though. |

I provided my own bearings and rod bolts. I think it was just under $2,000 with oil change and the replacement motor mounts.

I just spoke to Group2 Motorsports in Seattle - they said they've done a couple E9x M3 rod bearing replacements.
Was quoted 9-10 hours labor at $125/hr, so $1125-$1250 + tax for labor. Part cost would depend on which brand bearing the customer went with. If you have them order the parts directly, you get their 1 year/12K mile warranty. If you supply the parts, no warranty. I've never had work done there but heard great things about them. http://www.g2motorsports.com |

Yes, he has worked on several local autocrosser's cars, as well as general service of public. He swapped the transmission on my '08, and I'm planing to have him do the rod bearings this winter.

I'm gonna take my car to AMS autogroup for some exhaust work this week. they seem to be knowledgeable in the BMW space and specialized in m5 and e36/e46 m3s.
going to ask about rod bearings and see how the conversation goes to guage how knowledge they are about the work involved.

I'm dropping my car off next week at G2 to get rod bearings and motor mounts done.
Apparently two other guys are also having their S65 M3s done at G2 this week/next week, maybe they are on these forums too? Not expecting any problems to come up, but I'll update here once it's done. |

John told me all of us were going with BE bearings + motor mounts. I called around and spoke to 4 or 5 shops, and opted for G2 based on all my conversations, cost, experience, etc. |

My written estimate states 10 hours labor @ $125/hr.
I spoke to other shops in the area (some of them mentioned/recommended on this forum) that had a lower hourly rate but the total labor cost was several hundred more, so they needed/wanted 12-16 hours to do the job. |

Interesting, I was quoted 12 hours for labor.
But yes, I'm dropping mine off Tuesday morning for BE bearings and bolts. What are you going with for mounts, jiggz ? |
