I attended the 2016 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) at the first and second press days - last week.

Just got back myself.

Disappointed in a few cars.
GT350R, was just cheap. Not Z/28 cheap from last year, but close
New Q60. Boring. I was hoping for more. 400hp new motor was a good start but letdown.
New Lexus LC500 concept. Did not outdo the LFA its spiritually succeeding.
New Continental. Boring big-body sedan with awful door handles
Buick Avista concept. Stupid. Pontiac should be alive and Buick dead.
Merc SL550. FAKE ASS SIDE GRILLS FROM AUTOZONE. I actually laughed.

Cars I loved:
Audi had some niiiiiice offerings. R8 V10+, RS7, S8+ (My fav), S6, S3 & TTS. GORGEOUS INTERIORS.
Ford GT. Art, just art!
Civic Coupe. Great little car. No Type S or R...bummer!
Impreza sedan concept. Looks like a better Hyundai Elantra design. Great little car.
Merc C Coupe. Very sleek.
GT4. O Face
Nissan Titan Warrior concept. Bad ass brute. Please build it.

Those Audis look hideous! As do most of the Mercs and Fords. Along that front bumper on the M2...

I wanted to go to this so bad! Thank you for sharing your pictures. Looks like an awesome time. A few thoughts:

1. The Panamera is looking damn bad amongst its family lol. The new body can't come soon enough.
2. Those are some of the best Ford GT pictures I have seen. Amazing car.
3. The M2 and LBB are looking better and better every time I see them. Can't wait to see the car in person, and really hope my dealer orders theres in LBB, although I'm sure they will be conservative and go grey.
4. I have not seen the interior of GT350 in person, but I have seen a few on the road, and I thought they look great. Easily the best Mustang I have ever seen, and the first one I have ever given thought to owning. The GT interiors I have seen/sat in weren't great, but for what you get for the money it's acceptable imo.
Edit 5. I honestly do not think I will be able to tell the difference between the C and E class on the road in passing. I can't believe that MB made them look so similar (it has always been this way with all three big germans but this is far and away the worst case to my eyes). Really hope bmw does more to differentiate the new G 5er.

I don't think the LC500 is the successor to the LFA...for starters the LFA had a sticker of nearly $400K and the LC500 is supposed to be in the 90K range.

If you haven't seen an LBB car you should find one. It looks far too blue in these photos and not the teal color that it is under daylight.

Great photos! Maybe a long shot but do you remember seeing anything saying which silver the gt4 and spyder wore? Looks cooler than gt; I'm thinking rhodium maybe?

Dat Audi S8 super sexy doe... But a fail that Benz made the E-Class look like the rest of their line up...

In the end though, there's only so much you can do with a car design, and perhaps Benz will stick to one design for each generation from now own, I wont be surprised if Audi and BMW follows their footsteps

IMO, the design is absolutely the "spiritual" successor of the LFA. I wasn't referring to the chassis/engine/drivetrain/aero/tires/capability/etc, just the design.
