M3 Headlights = High beams?
I've noticed that the xenon headlights for the M3 are much much brighter than what was on my previous E90. On the road at night, some other cars have even "high-beamed" me to try and signal to me as if my high-beams were on. And there was one time on the highway that a car infront of me pulled behind me and was constantly flashing me with his high-beams.
Anyone else ever had this experience? Do my lowering springs change the stance of my car so that my lights may be more "eye-catching" than stock?

Assuming the E9X works the same way, if you lower the car, the relationship between the suspension piece and the sensor is changed. And by the way, the "Dinan authorized" BMW-only shop that installed the suspension on my 330i kinda forgot about that little arm needing to be disconnected before taking apart the suspension and they broke it (and tried to hide that they broke it). Anyway, you might want to check into what sort of sensor the E9X uses and see that it was re-connected / not broken. If your sensor is broken / not connected, it might be stuck in a position that puts your beams at the highest angle possible! |

i had that all the time on my e46 and now on the porsche it still happens a lot. I had the xenons checked on both cars. apparently they are just fine. nevertheless on the highway i feel like i am illuminate the sky.
maybe it also has to do with the real wheel drive. if you accelerate the beam moves up a bit. |

I've had it happen to me quite a bit on my xenon cars. Typically happens when there are elevation changes in the road where your lights get directed into the driver's line of sight.

If you really wanted to make your point, you could walk them through the whole cycle. Off, head lights, high beams. Then flash the highs alittle just to make sure the message went through.

People need to learn to adjust the aim of their headlights. It's not like rocket science. If your suspension has been modified, chances are the baseline position is off and/or the auto adjust is messed up.

you may want to pull up to a closed garage door on a level driveway with your headlights on.
They should be level, slightly below the height of the headlights at 5-10 feet. As you pull back (on the level) the light should not be getting higher Basically - you may wish to check the alignment of your lights.

I've never had anyone flash me thinking my high beams were on. Sounds like your lowered suspension has messed up the auto leveling feature as others have said. I'd take the car back to whoever did the lowering on your car and tell them your headlights aren't auto-leveling properly.

Sounds like you should re-align the throw of your main xenon beam
