Dyno Setup Q's - Tie downs, Tach Pickup, DCT Gear Selection

I'm renting some time at a dyno shop this weekend for a few hours to tune another car (not M3) for a friend and I figured while I'm there I should get my E92 M3 on as well. I was wondering where is the best place to tie down the M3 on the front and rear. Also where is the normal place to pickup the tach signal? My car has the DCT and I've read conflicting answers but I figured I'd ask again, which gear is best to run in? 4th or 5th?

After watching a few E9x M3 dyno pull vids I noticed that most handle the front tie down point through the front wheels. But in a couple vids I noticed they were using the tow hook for the front tie down point. I'm wondering if the tow hook is safe?

Still can't figure out where these shops are tying down the rear of the M3 when putting them on the dyno. Any ideas?

I just went on a DynoJet and had a night of 4th gear runs and a night of 5 gear runs (DCT). Tiny difference - 4whp which could just be the car.

The shop I was at has only done a few M3s so they found this very helpful, especially for the tach signal. The cover mentioned was a bit of a pain to get back on but it all worked out! Enjoy - looking forward to your results.

5th gear is closer to 1:1 than 4th, but that takes you up to 150mph on the dyno. That makes me a bit nervous.

The dyno shop should strap the car down for you. They have done this many times and should do it themselves. I don't know why you would want to take the risk and do it yourself.
