that's what i'm thinking, but is not protocol for the dealer to be doing this? i mean that's the only real reason they charge so much otherwise any of us could throw the battery in there and drive away

From what I read, it doesn't even look like there is a way to just "check" if battery has been registered - even referenced one member who used BMWapp and it not working. My coding on car has remained all in line after battery was replaced by dealer, so it's my conclusion that with them replacing with an exact spec OEM, yes registration still does need to happen (which they did) - but it has no effect on coding. |

Tom, I had my voltage regulator fail causing the charging system to overcharge the car. The symptoms only occurred once before I took it in to be fixed. My AGM battery was only six months old when the regulator failed. Would you recommend replacing the battery again?

Bumping an old thread but I’m curious if you can restore a backup in Carly to reload your old codings after changing a battery or if I’ll have to go through one by one
