Sorry to break the bubble... but has anyone seen this thread from the people from M5board?
http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60...no-review.html I just ordered the oiled filter and it is coming in this week. Now I am having doubts whether I should even bother installing the filter. Someone shed some light on this please |

I might have misread this but there was shard drop of
"The drop is in the 20-25+ range!!!! Even with the hood open, the AFE loses big power throughout the midrange of the power band until almost 7000 rpms where it matches and barely goes higher than stock." Please correct me if I'm wrong.. because I might have misread or misunderstood this. |

Yeah. What ihyln said. Their intake for the M5 pulls the airboxes and leaves two open element cones in the engine bay. Totally different than a oe replacement drop in.

I put mine in the other day. Fits very well. I don't see how it could possibly cause the car to lose power since it probably flows as well or better than the stock filter. I figure worst case scenario it makes no power but sounds slightly better, though chances are it probably adds a few ponies.
