Unhappy Pity me...

I curbed my right front 19" oem wheel This is the reason I never let anyone drive my car and now I've done it.

It's about a 4" rub on the lip of the rim. I'm depressed. At least tell me someone else out there has done it.

New wheel = $1,000 retail.

hahaha.... i just curbed my right rear wheel today as well. I was pissed off for the entire day. Now i'm just blah... i called around and it looks like it will cost me $175 to fix...this is using a CNC machine, not paintwork. I wont pay the $$$ for new OEM wheels. If I have to get new wheels, i'm going aftermarket.

I have a HUGE sense of empathy for you.

I've done it......and it was for the most stupid reason!!!

You can get a full set of stocks with close to new tires for $2k. That's almost the cost of the tires alone ... so when you need new rubber you can do that.

I was washing my car tonight and noticed two nicks in my front right wheel. The strange thing is it must have been from something in the road. There is no scrub on the tire and I rarely ever have to parallel park. I feel your pain brother.

Find a place that repairs wheels, they typically can fix curb rash for under $150

I dont think that the wheel and tire insurance that the dealer (if that is what you are referring to) applies to mere wheel rash, unless someone can correct me on that statement?

most wheel and tire warranty only covers road damage... curb is not part of that coverage.

Anyways, i've been researching all the repair options in my area.
-The first, and most common repair, is sanding down the scratch surface, (might require painting) and , and applying a clear coat. However, this leaves a line between the old clear coat and the new one.

-The second option, the one I'm going with, uses a CNC machine to cut a paper fine layer off the entire surface of the wheel to replicate the machining marks of the stock 19" wheels, and then applying a new clear coat.

Both options cost around $170 in the DC area...

I curbed the crap out of all my wheels...that's why I'm glad I bought that $1000 tire and wheel package warranty..it covers it

All I have to do is go to the dealership and get it fixed..well worth the money.

Did you not buy this warranty? It's also replaced two of my rear tires due to nails.

Wow, you sure are getting your moneys worth Dev! hahahahehe

Unfortunately I didn't get any of the additional warranty packages. I'm too stingy most of the time.

OP, I'm going to get my wheels fixed within this month. I'll let you know how it goes

Wheel repair businesses can fix that without a problem.
