car looks like its in good shape, I would check the history to make sure it truly is a clear title. And maybe try to argue the price down to about 37k

Price seems a little high for a vehicle that's been involved in an accident. Does the dealer have any info on the accident or pictures of the car prior to repairs?

That doesn't look like a bad deal at all if you can wiggle off that asking price just a little (assuming the condition of the car is good). I am biased to Jet Black of course

My best advice in looking is figure out exactly what options you want, and what your parameters are (price, mileage, mods? and associated budget) and then take your time. Starting to see some really good deals out there with both dealers and private sellers. Good luck with your M3 purchase!

The dealer said they do not have any pictures of the accident, but that it was not enough to set off the airbags. The main problem is that the car is too far away for me to go and see it/drive it. Scares me to buy a car sight unseen. I would definitely have my mechanic here do an inspection and make that part of the deal, but still leaves me uneasy. Should this be a deal killer that I cannot see the car in person before buying.

I bought my last two cars ('01 M5 and '02 S2000) sight unseen out of state. Both cars had no surprises and served me well over the years (just sold the M5 after 6.5 years and 29k put on).

IMO, if I have numerous high-quality pictures and do a comprehensive PPI with a trusted mechanic... if that mechanic can't find something wrong, then chances are I won't either just looking at it and driving it.

If the car didn't have accident, I would buy the car sight unseen considering the car had no previous paint work on any body panel but in your case, I wouldn't risk it. You need to see the car to make sure the job is well done.
