Hmm. This thread has sparked my interest. I'm considering this now. Relatedly, does this software do anything to fix the horrible lag times shifting into or out of reverse? I've heard unsubstantiated talk that the "Euro DCT" software is supposed to fix this.

Roman I understand about the SMG but I also had mentioned the S6 is the shift speed I and many like. Does the software make S5 as violent as S6 on the dct? I think S6 is as violent or more than any setting in SMG, however it is the S5 and below that are too tame.

Alternatively can you code the car so you can keep traction on and still engage S6?

5 feels very similar to 6 IMO.

I never really noticed lag in reverse but I can check it out for you.

Ren, I'm waiting on AJ @ ESS to unlock my e-flash cable so that I can upload the software. Apparently if you already have a cable that was used to tune the ECU they need to remotely unlock it before you can program the DCT. I'll shoot you feedback and you can take it for a drive afterwards.

I've never really noticed this, so I'll pay attention when I leave work.

Will do, Adam. Hopefully I'll be set by this weekend so I can get some good time in behind the wheel.

Hey Roman, this looks fantastic. Although I'm hesitant to pull the trigger until others review as with my recent upgrades, I'm now finding that my tires are spinning a bit just before I hit 8,000 RPM in both 2nd gear and 3rd gear (3rd gear it spins inconsistently). Are the quicker/harder shifts from the DCT software potentially going to create added wheelspin? Thanks.

Of course "firsts" can matter and be significant, like landing on the moon, or the first to invent electricity, but in this case, no it doesn't really matter, lmao, and I'm not sure why someone with a stock car would invest his time on a car forum to assert that it does. As long as the product works well, most don't care who did it first, but it's a nice feather in the cap I guess. Regardless, in this case you're uniformed or you misunderstood the particulars and specifics. You didn't really respond to the pertinent part of my post, again ESS did remote flashing years ago, BPM didn't at the time, so you're wrong about who did remote flashing first, BPM now does remote DCT flashing and that's fantastic, but as far as I know they have to do it remotely, ESS doesn't, the end user can upload a DCT file anytime they want they don't need someone on the other end to do it, that is the first Tom and I are referring too, "available thru E-Flash" is a little different than doing it remotely.

Its been pretty well documented that shifting into reverse, or out of reverse has a bit of lag to it on traditional software. I've seen more than a few threads dedicated to it here on the forums. Check it out for yourself if you're still running stock DCT software

Lol. Enjoy.
I meant I have not noticed it with our software but to be honest I never really paid any attention to it but I can next time I drive the car.

I did not expect this. Does that means that you have to unlock the cable every time you want to work between ECU software and DCT software? I thought the cable was locked to the car and that you could work with both types of software without remote help. Roman can you clarify?

At this point, I would have almost rather paid the extra money to get a new cable... It probably would have arrived by now and I would have the software loaded.

My only basis for "1st" is that another vendor long ago publicly announced the availability of upgraded DCT software. This post is the first public (on this forum) announcement that I am aware of from ESS offering essentially the same upgrade.

Whether something was available in private or in a "beta" sense and not announced publicly is not something much worthy of discussion.

Announce that DCT software is available in general or announce that it's available remotely? As far as I know ESS was the first to offer a DCT upgrade publicly on this forum, and this was years ago, you even responded in this main thread -

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...oftware&page=3

Where did another vendor, not customer, publicly announce that it's now available to everyone? Show me the link? Do you understand the differences on how people can obtain the DCT upgrade? Again, the "first" that Tom was referring to was that ESS was the first to do DCT upgrades thru "E flash", which is different then doing it remotely, but of course in the end you essentially get the same type of upgrade regardless of how it's done, but lets be clear, ESS was the first to offer a DCT upgrade and this was years ago.
