Best cell phone to integrate with 2010 M3 i drive
I need a new cell phone. My M3 does not recognize my current phone ~ 2yrs old. I use Verizon if that makes any difference.

iPhone if you have smartphone integration option. If not, the new droid phones are nice, and the one I played with distinguished the difference between a cell/work/home contact number, instead of listing the contact 3 times.

I find the Bluetooth integration is a bit spottier with my iPhone 3Gs than with the Samsung I had before. Sometimes the connection to the car drops for no apparent reason and I have to turn Bluetooth off and on again to get it to reconnect. Otherwise works fine and I like the docking cradle.

Either BlackBerry or iPhone models are great.

I would think the iPhone integrates the best since iDrive supports the iPod music features of the phone (playlists, albums, artists, etc.). Not sure if it supports any other player like it does the iPhone/iPod.

I have a 2010 M3 with iDrive and to be honest, I never hook up my phone. It's too much work (in and out all the time). I simply use a 32GB usb stick as well as importing CDs to iDrive and importing my iTunes library (not all just the good stuff) using the usb connector in the glovebox.
As far as Bluetooth, I use Android (DROID) and it integrates like a champ and always keeps my contacts synced with the car as well as all the call logs, etc. |
