Enhanced Audio Static -- When was OFF!

Had the stangest issue this morning.

Car had been sitting in my garage all night, locked.

I walked to the trunk in the morning and opened it....as soon as I did, I heard this LOUD sound...I thought it was an air nozzle from an air compressor going off inside the car. Exactly what it sounded like...REALLY loud.

So, I got in the car and it was coming from the right rear speaker, from what i could tell. It was so frickin loud, it was hard to tell. So I hit the start button to power up the car (mind you, it was completely OFF). I tried to mute the stereo, still no help. I started the car and hit mute, still no help. Turned off car and killed power, no help. So, i go to the trunk and rip off the cover for the amp (LR corner of trunk) and pop off the fiber optic plug. Sound instantly goes away. I see the plug and it has a red light on (inside of it)...It stays on for about 2 seconds...then flashes for about 2 seconds, then goes off. I plug it back in and it was still silent. Started the car and the audio and everything worked totally normal. I am stumpted.

I will be doing my 1200 mile soon, so i will mention this, although i dont expect they will have a clue s as to what it could be!

Has anyone had this strange LOUD (I mean MAX volume) static problem....when the car was COMPLETELY off? WTF?

Hmmm that didn't exactly happened to me but when I was getting out of my car one time I heard what sounded like a gun shot from my right speaker and the next time I get in my car I hear a slight static but it went away after 3 minutes
