Anyone know a shop in the Atlanta area that has done the OEM exhaust mod as shown in the video below?
Also does anyone have a stock set of E90 mufflers they want to sell cheap? Thanks in advance. |

Just show a shop the pics/video. It's not complicated.

+1 -- although the concept of taking my phone/laptop and showing a shop what to do is intriguing, I'd prefer anyone who has had first hand experience with a reputable shop who may have done this.

There is a thread on here that has pics of the muffler opened up, the perforated pipes, stuffing, etc. I just printed out those pics and explained what to do to the muffler shop. They said the pics were perfect and was easy to follow along.
Maybe someone knows of a shop who has done this but simply bringing the pics/vid to a reputable shop should be all they need. |

Showed this video to the guys who did all my Lexus performance work @ Zen Motors north of Atlanta. They are going to be performing this for me tomorrow morning so I'll let you know how it works out. They are also going to be painting my can black.
I'm sure if you contact Dan over there he will be more than willing to do it for you as well. Has anyone changed out the stock exhaust tips in conjunction with this? Did that work out well? |

So I decided late Thursday night that I wasn't willing to pay someone $400+ to do this as it didn't look too difficult. I ended up starting around 4pm Friday and was home in time for dinner. Very easy and cost me maybe $45. Being a somewhat novice welder I can say if you have any welding skills and the equipment this isn't worth paying for.
I hope to have some more videos later but here is a quick 'cold start' video. P.S. please excuse my big goofy green 'get dirty' shirt |

Great job - sounds awesome! If I don't end up going with an aftermarket exhaust in the next couple of months, I'll definitely end up doing this and may hit you up!

I ended up getting a great deal on a pair of Remus Sport mufflers today. Anyone interested in this modified stock exhaust? Sounds great I just want the look of the Remus TBQH. Would be willing to meet anyone around ATL so they could hear it.
