just ordered, the wait begins

i just ordered my e90 m3!

this has definitely been one of the cars on my "list", so to speak, for quite some time. my wife wanted me to move to a more suitable family car, so i had my chance....

alpine white
titanium shadow interior trim
novillo black leather
convenience package
m-dct
bmw assist

ordered on saturday feb 26... the dealer had an allocation, but no previous order on it. i don't have my production number yet, so any ideas as to how long that might take? i'm actually hoping for mid-may at the earliest for various reasons, so i think i'm safe, but i'd rather have that production number so i can confirm.

Eight weeks seems to be a good rule of thumb.

Congratulations!

Congrats! I think you ought to follow up w/ your dealer about your production number...if they have an allocation then they should have the production number already (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

Regarding time, 8 - 10 weeks plus or minus is probably about right. I ordered mine on 1/3/11 and my car is supposed to reach stateside tomorrow. I was build week 7 fwiw.

Congrats! Consider yourself lucky your dealer had allocation. I placed my order on 2/21 and my CA said it may be 3-4 weeks until I have a production number! Painful.

just found out that i don't actually have allocation yet... guess the salesperson was a little overzealous with that info.

works for me, as i'd actually love to wait for june delivery.

just got the production number yesterday, my CA had to pull a personal favor with one of his friends at the west coast to get an allocation. What he tells me is that there were a total of 152 allocations across US and all were booked / orders waiting. There are no more April allocations available per my CA or atleast they did not get any.
