Gas pedal "kickdown" metal plate dropped off. How to put it back?
Hello all.
There's a metal plate behind gas pedal that just dropped off. Judging from what I can see, it looks like the plate that'll press down on a small button at base when gas pedal is pressed all the way down. Think that's the one that causes a click which activate kickdown on DCT when gas pedal is pressed all the way down. Does anyone know how to put this metal plate onto the back of gas pedal? Or photo / video showing how it's done? Did a search and also youtube but couldn't't find any instruction on how to put it back. Attached is a photo is plate that dropped off. Correct me if it's not device that activates kickdown on DCT. Appreciate some assistance. Thank you. |

Replace the pedal assembly. It's not supposed to come off. The plate just gives you the click feeling, it has nothing to do with the kick down feature. That is all done by the signal from the pedal travel sensors.

BTW, I managed to replaced the plate.
Everything's back in place. Pain in the ass to fix but quite easy once you figure out how to do so. |
