probably just metallic paint (interlagos blue), cf trim and sirius and ipod connectivity. I wont be driving it in the winter, so no need for ZCW, im planning to not get nav because a) bmw nav sucks (i have it in the X5) and b) i know where im going 99% of the time and c) i have a portable garmin nuvi. Depending on what comes with the ZPP, i may or may not get it. I don't need Park distance control, active steering or any of those electronic nannies.

I'd rather save my cash for a bbk because those stock brakes look weak. let's see how it handles on track.

Im gonna give the BMW nav a shot...does anyone know if the new M will come with M drive standard? Or do we need to purchase the M Dynamic package to get the M button on the steering wheel?

as far as i can tell that is standard. if the nav is significantly better, i.e. has real-time traffic etc, i will consider it.

I'm gonna get the nav w/ bluetooth, comfort access, ipod connection & hi-end stereo, edc, & hopefully multi-function seats, not park distance no active steering no sirus...can't remember the full list of options maybe missing a few.

My exterior color: Interlagos Blue, SS2, Silver Grey, White (this ones last b/c my e46 was white)

Interior Color: I would love Red but don't think it'll go well with Interlagos, but if I opt for any of the three other colors Fox Red will be my interior...

Bill

what interior would you get with interlagos? im not sure fox red would look bad with it. would have to see a color samples to decide for sure.

Does the # on a dealer's waiting list really matter?

Guys,

Sorry to change the topic back to the order/waiting list topic, but if i got it right, each dealer has to ender the order in the BMW global production schedule, right? So in the end, does it really matter if you are #1 on the waiting list of one dealer vs. #50 on another dealer's list? As long as the order is entered in the BMW system, it should be fine no?

May be I missed something. Can you clarify?

No worries about the change in topic...actually the # that you are on a waiting list is very important if you want your car when its finally released...remember its a "waiting list" & if you have a deposit at a dealer who only gets 1 allocation a month as opposed to 5 or 10, then you being #50 would mean that you have to wait a very very long time, keep in mind that w/ M-cars dealers aren't holding a large inventory, usually if they have one on the floor is b/c someone ordered it & then backed out after it went into production, so your dealer can't (could but not easy) just call other dealers & find you a car. So if the dealer puts you into the system today it doesn't mean that 3 mths from today your going to get your car, it means that once their allocation & your build date # comes up then 3 mths after that you get your car...I hope didn't confuse you..but here's a link to another thread that may help you out:

btw: what part of NJ are you in...check in here even if your not in Bergen

Thanks Monsta, makes more sense now! I got confused because I just thought that it was a first in the system (once released), first served. Was not aware of these allocation numbers.

Having said that, I wanted to ask if you, or anybody else, has a recommendation or knows where the best spots on a waiting list still are in the NJ area (I live in the Nutley area) ?

So far I am still thinking about a E92 or 93 335 with ED.....but I am really worried that I will regret it once the M is out!

I have my deposit down at Prestige in Ramsey I'm # 2 don't know how long there list is now...5thStz just put his deposit down at difeo in Teaneck & is # 6..kishg put his deposit down after 5thStz but not sure of his #....my advice is call up everyone & find out....

Your talking about E93 335 right? IMHO when you start thinking about verts vs. coupe let alone E92 vs 335 they are too very different styles & uses, most people won't track there car so no need to mention that, but I'm biased b/c I already have a vert. & am getting my m3 coupe so I have the best of both worlds...but if I have to choose definitely m3 > 335

If you do decide 335 definitely do the ED, I contemplated this w/ my M3 but won't do it b/c of break in ect ect, if I'm going to drive in Germany on the Autoban I'm not holding back...

IB looks great w/ light colors...I've seen a M5 w/ SS2 interior & it looks great, high maintance b/c its so light (I noticed that the dark jeans bled into the seat)....IB w/ black also looks good but most cars do anyway...bamboo will look great probably, now the red is very bold & I don't mind it, but IB is bright also so I'm not sure if it'll be too loud...lets wait & see

Its best to get on the waiting list ASAP. Just make sure its refundable and at MSRP.

Difeo in Tenefly (had a brain fart and said Teaneck =P) is a good bet for a smaller waiting list. Ask for Fred Siegel, tell him David sent ya. Best sales guy in the world..dont worry im not on their payroll lol, my dad has been doing buisness with Difeo and Fred for awhile now and i highly recommend them.

Haha 335 lurker here...speaking of fiances, when I got my car in Dec. after a month she said she couldn't believe I never asked her if she wanted to drive my car, but it's ok. After about 6 mos. with the car I asked her if she wanted to drive, and she said NO! She said just the fact that I asked her was good enough. Women!! When I first let her drive my other car which is a 5-spd Japanese, I watched her left foot while at a stoplight....didn't press on it and left it in neutral...bonus!
