This is unbelievable, the dealership is playing games.

So two weeks ago i went because there was a serious banging noise when shift from 1st to 2nd. I took is in and they told me that the bolt that holds the diff is broken and theyll replace it for me. Yesterday i was driving and all of a sudden i hear another bang and the car starts to make a noise as if something was hanging down. I took it in the dealership right away to get it checked. They called me in the morning say that the subframe was damaged and the rear end was too. They told me that there is alot of damage and they wont be able to fix it because it was shown that the car was abused??? i didnt abuse it at all thats the funny part? The service manager told me that theyll talk to bmw abt it but most likely they wont cover it. I mean are they serious ? what should i do?

WOW, this is crazy as its seems like lately more and more stories are popping out about issues with bolts and subframes that dealerships are refusing to honor with warranty. Hope they fix it up for you given that they had just worked in that area

wow.... i had this issue twice and my dealer had no issue in replacing the bolts which snapped!!! holding the diff in place. Second time they said subframe was also sort of damaged and they replaced it all rear end as well with no issue.... its the dealer sometimes they just dont wanna do the work... try another dealer... u have warranty... and even if u do abuse the car so wat its an m3 it should be able to take a beating and like it!!!!!!!! lol.... my SA understands that so thats why hes like dont worry its getting fixed... good luck man

Is it just me or are there so many problems with the 2011 M3's?

Can someone explain to me how installing a aftermarket exhaust will effect the rear sub-frame on the M3?? Do you have to take any diff/sub-frame bolts off to install an aftermarket exhaust??

I have a e90 on order and I am stressing out because of all these recent issues. Canceling even crossed my mind! Seems like I have to take a 2 month break from this forum or something..

Not sure if they are legit issues or people beating the crap out of their cars.

Dealerships love to do warranty work if they can. They get paid either way. Must be more to this story.....

+1
dealerships get paid when they do warranty work, so they would rather take your car and do all they can so they can get most money off of it.

We have a winner . If you haven't experienced axle hop (yeah, I know you wouldn't admit it here ), probably a bad installation job. Man, I've read several just this week alone.

Heavy a$$ bolts and subframes don't just break for no reason... you just have to find it . Or BMW personnel will find it for you, unfortunately. Good luck man, and keep us posted.

Another broken subframe issue? You should coordinate with the other poster and set forth a concerted effort with the dealers and/or BMW (if there is an impending denial from them in your case as well). Be aggressive and tell them this is a manufacturer or design flaw and you will sue for breach of warranty if they deny the claim. You guys gotta get tough on these dealerships. You don't need a lawyer do that either...

UNLESS of course, you abused or misused your car, in which case, you might be out of luck.
