Retrofitting passenger OC3 seat occupancy sensor mat into aftermarket seat?

I'm wondering whether anyone has successfully retrofit an OC3 seat occupancy sensor mat into an aftermarket seat? I'm looking to place the mat under the cushions of my Recaro Profi SPG. It seems feasible but thought I should ask around before ending up with a bunch of useless parts.

What I know (and don't know):

The sensor mat itself (P/N 65779153119) connects to a wiring harness set (P/N 61129131647) that connects it, along with the seatbelt and seat side airbag connectors, to the connector on the floor.

I couldn't tell whether the occupancy sensor mat itself relies on anything else in the seat to properly sense the weight or if it would work if placed under any cushion.

Given that I won't have the seat side airbag, I assume I'd need to code that out. I plan to attach the seatbelt wiring harness.

FWIW, from what I can see all of the OC3 sensor mat emulators would still require using that wiring harness set (or cutting the wires on it and building a connector for the harness on the floor). The only exception is the Macht Schnell one, which disables the airbags rather than forcing them on.... Not ideal, as I'm planning to keep the factory belts for street use (along with the proper 6-pts for the track).

Thanks!
