Ouch! Reading what you wrote was truly painful. Thank god you're in college! Take your time and try to pay attention to your grammer.

You came out of the accident in tact, but four rear end accidents must be some kind of record considering the car is a 2008. Hope all goes well for you. By the way what kind of loaner car did you get?

Check for any inflicted issues with cervical spine for you and all your passengers. Rear end collision means physical therapy for all of you is in order...

OP: I applaud you for keeping your cool when posting this thread, especially not getting too upset with the person who hit you from behind.

It takes a genuine person to be that way.

Dude...I would have flipped the F**K out if that happened to me...another reason why the US should adopt German driving laws and raising the eligible age to get a drivers license and making it easier to lose your license and harder to get it back...just my thoughts

Thats a terrible nightmare situation dude, being complete stuck and you see someone behind you not having the time to brake or not braking at all.

I usually brake hard 200 feet before I'm about to make a complete stop, then easy on brake, if i see the car behind me not braking at my hardbreaking 200 feet before i switch lane or something to avoid what could be a rearend situation. And I'm also never in front of someone who looks suspicious or careless (texting, talking on phone, eating or whatever else distracting).

But OP that really sucks though, nothing you could do in a situation like that, hopee everything works out for you bro.

Bugger! How do these clowns get licenses? I hate my commute when I have people riding my M's rear as I fear exactly the above happening. Hope the repairs go well.

Wow, sorry to hear about this. It's nice to see some proper perspective from some of the posts. So many people don't drive with care, and accidents happen. The car can be put back together, we can't.

Dealing with insurance carriers is a nightmare, and most if not all of them make you all but go to war to get made whole these days, especially in a 3rd party scenario like this one. If this car is owned and not leased I would absolutely have a consult with an attorney to talk about your repair and loss of use rights and DV issues. If it's leased, the road back is much simpler, just make sure the car is repaired at a BMW Certified shop, then turn it in when your lease is up or negotiate a buyout that's consistent with the loss in value from the accident.

Best of luck OP, I hope the repair and settlement process goes well.

I got rear ended 2 times in the last month (but at very low speed), so only scratches on my bumper. But it does show how many morons are on the roads. People don't pay attention to what they're doing.
