iPhone 6 and CIC help

I got the new iPhone 6s. I purchased a new lightning cable. Connected it to the car (6NR late 2011 build) and have been having nothing but issues. The amazon prime radio connects/disconnects constantly. The iTunes radio has massive static. The player plays but the screen displays the very first album cover and that's it. BMW Apps self diagnosis came back with connection good/error sending receiving data. (Not verbatim) SO, whats the fix? I specifically went from Samsung to the iPhone when we moved back from Germany for the sole reason that our cars are Apple "friendly". Never mind that my wifes car without the 6NR doesnt even recognize the phone only as an external device. Anyone have experience with this or ideas as to what I need to do? Do I have to dish out the $250+for the cradle? Id hate to do that just to have it continue to act up. HELP!
Thanks!

This is combox multimedia firmware that is updated via USB and downloadable via the website ... Cic firmware can only be updated with a proper fiber optic interface and takes 2-3 hrs in most cases.

I've never tried hooking up my iPhone directly to the car (cic) but I use tune2air and this thing works amazingly well. It auto connects each time I get in the car, launches the last app and it starts playing. You still have full steering controls and song info is displayed in idrive screen.

The USB port under of he armrest makes your phone act like a iPod

The problem with the usb socket it hasn't got any real grunt to charge the new
iPhone 6, yes it still charges but very very slowly

Why would you use tune2air when the cic can do the exact same thing

I have one too but that was for my old ccc drive

If your car is Australian you can get the software from here

http://www.bmw.com.au/com/en/owners/...re_update.html

also it will update pretty much anything to do with the stereo but the maps, you have to buy them on a usb stick from bmw for $149 or 129 they are on special atm

2011.5 and > had the combox fitted which allows for Bluetooth streaming. Mine is 2009 which is why you either need a cable or a wireless dongle.
