By the way I think you meant to say "clinging" or clutching" onto your car. Not clinching

It's fairly obvious why no one wants to put an S54 into a E9x - because you can't make more than about 400hp reliably with it N/A, so there's no point. It doesn't make any sence to spend all that money only to make less hp than you started with. And since both the S54 and S65 are N/A motors, there are not really any tradeoffs between the two. However, a lot of people prefer a naturally aspirated motor, particularly a V8, and especially a high revving V8. And since an S65 can make well 550hp N/A, it will be able to make significantly more than the next M3 is rumored to make. Obviously the 6 cyl turbo in the M3 will be moddable as well, but again, many people would rather have a naturally aspirated engine.

At the very least you will see a few F3x race cars with an N/A V8s. I'll willing to bet that someone builds one for the street as well.

my m3 is going to be ready to swapped in 2 years, as I use it as a kids mini van, windsurf car, mountain bike taxi, track day weapon.....bring on the new m3 I say!

BTW the m3 loves it.
