Rubbing Issues with 18X8.5 ET20 with Stock Tires???

How agressive can I go on the front offset before I have wheel well rubbing issues. I'm looking at some wheels that are 18x8.5 with an offset of 20. Is the 9mm difference too much and will I get rubbing with this set up using the stock tires?

Does anyone have any real experience with a wider (smaller numerical value) offset on the front wheels?

couldn't you just use a spacer? I am thinking about getting wheels with the offset you are talking about

No, because I'm going from a stock wheel with an offset of 29 to a wheel with an offset of a 20. Which means the wheels will already sit wider (pushed out toward the fenders)than stock by 9mm. A spacer would only push the wheels out even more, not helping the situation but making it worse.

Ac-Schnitzer use offset 15mm for front wheel 8.5 wide, and 245 tire

Not exactly sure if this helps but a 15mm spacer works fine on the front with an OEM 19" tire/wheel.

Not sure, it looks like the ACS car has the ACS suspension, which lower a bit resulting in more negative camber than stock , while maintaining same tire diameter like stock tire.

20mm offset is fine for front wheel, especially if you maintain stock tire diameter.

I have been searching for the maximum non-staggered set up for my E92M3, and found ACS has the smallest offset for front wheel, but will not fit rear

I'm going to run the factory 18s which are a little heavier with
18 x 9.5 et23
PS2 in 265/40-18

IF 18x10 with 25mm offset fit at front, then 20mm offset with with 8.5 or 9 will definitely fit for front wheel.

What camber, toe and caster is your setting? Are you maintaining same tire diameter like stock at front.

It looks like you are one of the members here that has been to the track with the e92m3 many times. The earliest I can go to the track with my E92M3 is in january 2009 if I can take-off from work.

8.5 ET20 in the front is perfectly fine on on an E90 M3 so it should be okay on your car. I'm just not 100% sure because I don't know if the E90 M3 simply has more room than the E92 M3 (as is the case with the non-M verions).
