AW E92 rolling shots (via rig)

Played around with my rig today trying to find the best suction cup mounting locations. Because of the shape of the hood (and the fact that it's aluminum) and the CF roof, there really aren't many places to mount them safely. The location sucks, but I think they came out ok.

Thanks! Almost anywhere on the hood or trunk is fine on the 135i. I'd stay away from the roof. I put a dent on my 135i roof every time I mounted it up there.

Trunk works great on the M3. I used the edge of the rear window for some angles too. Carbon fiber roof is obviously a bad idea (not going to try it ). There's a lot of soft spots on the hood. And the edges are always sturdy, but they angle too much for my suction cups to work well. Here's a shot of the rig location that worked best for me: http://d.pr/RzUm Near the top edge where it's flat (next to the power dome) and right before the crease.

Thanks!
I put together a suction cup car rig. You can get lots of info on building a rig if you google it. But basically my camera is attached to a pole and I take long exposures, anywhere from 4 to 20 seconds. These photos were taking during the day (a cloudy day) so I shot at ISO50, 4 second exposure, F22, and stacked a 4x and 8x ND filter. Here's what the photo looks like straight out of the camera:

I'm just pushing the car slowly until the 4 second capture is done. The crazy vignetting is because of the stacked ND filters. I hate doing that because it degrades image quality, but if I want to shoot in the day time and outside, I don't have much choice. I just crop out the edges. Then you have to photoshop out the rig from the photos. That's probably the toughest process. The rest is a bunch of retouching in photoshop. Hope that gives you a basic idea.
