AFE filter installed
So yesterday, I had the chance to throw an AFE oiled filter (courtesy of ShadeM3) into the M3. Installation was self-explanatory - took all of about 10 minutes to do and the filter went on with ease. It mated up with the factory pieces flawlessly.
AFE filter install photos: My intial impression is that it definitely SOUNDS meaner. It's a nice, cheap compliment to the Eisenmann Race exhaust for sure! As if it wasn't addicting enough to give the throttle a little blip for the exhaust alone, the filter does add a bit of growl. AFE does claim a power difference, but I am still under break in (~150 mi.), so it's really hard to gauge, but I'll be sure to keep you updated as my mileage piles on.

HRE P40 (ShadeM3) test fit + Nitto Invo Review
HRE P40 (ShadeM3) test fit + Nitto Invo Review So after I had the chance to shoot ShadeM3's car, we took the opportunity to test fit his HRE P40s (standard +28 offset, textured black finish). It also gave me a chance to try on the Nitto Invo tires. Fortunately, I was able to check out how the tires behaved on both wet & dry conditions (and through a range of temperatures: ~50 - 65 degrees) yesterday and I am VERY pleased to report that the Invos really do their job - even in pretty heavy rain. His set up was a 255/xx/20 (front) / 285/xx/20 (rear). Here is a link to the Invo's technology page: http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Eti...o%2Etechnology Not only does the tire LOOK menacing and performance oriented, but it definitely performs like a champ. The tire is very quiet, comfortable and I was able to corner confidently despite the heavy rain and put the power down without feeling like I would slide out of control or hydroplane. I thought that the Toyo T1Rs on my 335 were pretty good tires (especially for the money), but these Invos are in an ENTIRELY different league. In the end, I am completely thrilled that I went with this tire for my new wheels! I can't wait until both arrive in house!!
