Let me know if your ever this way, as to cup holders, my wife banned anyone from using them in the E93 335 Vert The point I was trying to make was that this flaming back and forth is so foreign here, driving ability is respected much more than the car you are driving. At the Nurburgring I witnessed an MX-5 (Miata) (granted it was race spec and likely supercharged) clean everyones clock Its not always what you Drive its how you drive it. Go Chargers

It won't be on sale until the RS6 has gone out of production, so probably 2010.

RS4 closes out 2008 MY. RS6 will be produced for 2009 MY. Most likely RS5 will show up for 2010 MY, so summer 2009 in the US, unless Audi begins to increase the size of the RS production line. That would be around the same time as the M3 CSL hits the US, assuming that it ever does.

The new M3 is something like 80kg heavier than the E46, but has close to 80 more BHP. If the current chassis is able to lap significantly quicker than the standard E46, then I don't see how similar differences in weight between CSL and E92 CSL could result in it being any slower. The chassis and tyres have shed more of the time than extra grunt alone, in both the case of the E92 and the E46 CSL.

People expect more and more out of their Bimmer. 12 speaker HK wasn't enough, nor is dual climate, DVD or plush rear seats.
The New M3 is bigger, but it also has less outer mass, so it handles better. It's center of gravity is lower to the ground, aswell. So it handles better. It's weight is 80kg more than the outgoing M3. It's quite amazing they can make a bigger vehichles outhandle a smaller lighter one, isn't it? Because they are learning it isn't all about how much it weighes, but where the weight is located on the car...! -Garrett Last edited by Garrett; 08-02-2007 at 09:37 AM.. |

Indeed and with the next generation of cars using more aerospace materials in their consruction (or so we're told), then this advance in weight distribution, coupled with some true weight savings will make the new BMW's as far ahead of their competition as they used to be. I look forward to that a great deal. And, that is what sets BMW apart from their competition, it's all about the handling and the way their cars make the driver feel, the luxury is a bonus.

BMW said recently that they don't need a 'supercar' in their line-up because that isn't what they're about.

The new Z9 maybe? I'm sure the concept CS will morph into a supercar of some kind.

What did Audi do with their interior...? OMG is the new style UGLY. That is a shame, because Audi's always hade the nicest interiors.
I wish BMW would go back to the E46 interiors.. -Garrett |

Now BMW is Small, almost a family run company that has designed engines that are considered among the best in the world. They own Mini an who else, Rolls ? Audi is part of a huge conglomerate called VOLKSWAGEN and has at its disposal, the technology of VW, SEAT, Bugatti, Lambo, Skoda and even Porsche to pull parts and technology from. (DSG) (TURBOCHARGING) you can even buy a VW designed engine in your Audi (1.8 Turbo) Now you likely are not going to drive a car capable of the performance of an M3, R8 or Even an A2 in the near future, unless someone else buys it. Learn how to drive using SCCA or a local Autocross club, buy a sports car and have some fun. and please stop trolling to get a reaction boards ! If you need an Argument try your parents, or debate class. I doubt you will understand this, But Audi's R8 is a wonderful car and they are losing money on each one. But there are like 400 or so going to the US. Now when BMW releases a Massed produced M-3, that will be capable of performance near that of Audis R-8 for more than 1/2 off. If You want to learn about BMWs learn here, but learn please you have been a royal PITA by coming up with half arssed arguments on two cars you never seen, built by companies you have likely never driven products from. Learn to Drive a sports car, try a BMW and an AUDI and come back and see us In youth we learn; in age we understand. Marie Ebner von Eschenbach

Porsche is a family owned company and they are the majority stakeholder of VW, Audi, Bentley, Skoda, Seat and Bugatti, so what's your point about BMW being a 'small' company?

VW (making bodies for them) Audi sharing AWD technology ala C-4 Etc Etc. THe Porsche Family Holds alot of the voting stock Former VW CEO F. Piech was Ferdinand Porsche's Nephew If I am not mistaken worked as race director for Porsche in the late 60s and early 70s Audi made the infamous Porsche 924 and 944 VW made the Porsche 914 and the old Body company Reutter (sp) that built early Porsches was bought by Porsche and evolved into Recaro Ferdinand Porsche (Dad) designed the Beetle, worked for MB and built the Famous Auto Union race cars while working for them He also designed alot more. Point is Dr Porsche was part of that scene for a very long time, now the company who owns those other companies bears his name BMW on the other hand, never was part of that Axis, they struggled alot more and have less history in cars But look what they have done with it ! BMW is much smaller than the overall picture above with its Mini and Rolls? subsidiaries it must rely on its own engineers for its success not those of a sister(s) company or R&D

with trying the 914, 924,928, 944 and 968 lines, If Ferry, God rest his sole and Butzi, and F Piech had remained I think Porsche would have been even more successful, but hey this is a Bimmer Board and I am glad I bought stock in 94
