I was messing with you. If you are on street tires, I would recommend looking at -2.5 degrees of camber. I run -3.0 and I think its a tad too much. The outside edges look untouched. I'm going to try -2.75 on my next alignment.

I'm sure you'll find the car has more front end grip and turns in much crisper. I'd say be careful because now you have more grip up front so the balance of the car in the turns will change and move closer to neutral. So be mindful that you'll need to keep the rear end in control.

I spun on the first session with camber plates in my E46. I was so used to terminal understeer.

I'm also interested to hear street driving impressions.

HPA has the largest inventory outside of Vorshlag, perhaps even more than Vorshlag. This is just want came in one day!

We also have camber plates for your M3 with KW V3, JRZ, Moton, AST, Koni...etc. All in stock!

You'll wanna kick yourself if you don't get these in before your next track day so do it!

In the rear, I run a little toe in on my E46. I have my E90 set to OEM specs in the rear.

In the front, I usually run a touch of toe out. Yes, it heats up the tires more and will make the front end feel darty on the street over bumps and uneven surfaces. But, the car turns in much more immediately. I like it on the two tracks that have a couple of tight, slow turns. You need to be smooth. I run zero toe on really fast tracks. Now, I just run zero toe because alignments were getting expensive.

I ran -3 camber in the front on square OEM 18" rears with Dunlop Z1* at around 38-39psi hot. The arrows on the sidewall are unscathed and the shoulder of the tire is still squared off and untouched.

Caster...I think Vorshlag recommends max caster which gives you some more static negative camber. IIRC, Vorshlag ships their plates in the max caster setting so it is what it is.

when you say you run oem specs on your e90 rear. are you just refering to toe or camber as well?

James, thanks for the info. I was planning on increasing rear camber to around -2.0 (currently -1.7) and front to -2.2 with plates (currently -1.6) and factory toe 0.10 degrees front and rear. I hope this will not push the balance too far towards oversteer, but I'm also installing the CF performance trunk spoiler to add some rear downforce. I will post impressions after installation and next track day.

If you increase grip up front it will make change the balance towards oversteer. You won't be drifting every corner but just have that in the back of your mind. You've changed your car so you can't drive exactly how your were driving before. It will feel a lot better. When you come into a corner faster than you're used to, the car might not plow but actually turn. If you aren't being smooth then the backend will come around on you. Just stay on the throttle smoothly to keep the rear under control.

Good to know! Current setup understeers a bit, so I'm hoping plates and new alignment will get me closer towards neutral. Because of EDC, I'm thinking it might be best to go with an intermediate setup for both street/track instead of switching back and forth. This of course depends on tire wear on my street tires with this much camber.

I think -2.5 is a good camber spec up front, regardless of your EDC setting. I'd ask your shop though and have them explain their reasoning behind whatever they recommend.

Thanks, I will post final setup after installing on Thursday. If I can get to at least -2.0 camber in the rear without having to compromise on the toe, then -2.5 in front should be ok.

Actually, we ship the plates in the recommended caster position for each model. For the E90 we ship it in the minimum caster position. The E90 and E80 chassis have the multilink lower arm that gives the car enough caster that more is not needed. Adding caster also prevents getting maximum camber - so it's a tradeoff on whether you want a lot of camber and no additional caster, or some additional camber and some additional caster.

For the older chassis (E36 and E46) and some other cars (GD Subaru, Mitsubishi EVO 5-9) they need all the caster they can get.

Vorshlag camber plates intalled on E92 M3 w/EDC

As promised I was able to have Vorshlag's new camber plates for OEM springs installed on my E92 M3 w/EDC. The installation was done by Driver's Source in Houston and they did a great job. I was not able to have alignment done, but will do so this weekend or early next week. The ride quality with plates installed is the same as stock, but with a tighter steering feel due to precision of the Vorshlag plates. I did not notice any noise when going over bumps and I am really impressed with the ride so far. I did notice a slight ride height increase of approx 6-8 mm with the plates installed. Since the plate is installed entirely below strut tower, the EDC plug and cap fitment is not affected. I will also post track impressions next weekend following the TWS DE. I wil be running R-S3's 275 square with -2.5F/-2.0R and 10mm spacer on rear.
