What he said

The TRM could just be the perfect track wheel at a great price!

will do - they certainly are light - isnt losing 26# of unsprung and rotating wieght something like losing 125# of fixed wieght?

6.5 lbs per corner is significant and surely helps with turn in and suspension responsiveness. Time for a BBK to lower the unsprung weight even more I don't even have my car yet and I want to buy those right now! Brake dust gray is even the perfect color!!

Would OEM 18" rears work in front (use them all the way around)? I believe the offset is 23mm vs 28 for stock fronts.

they should - but you would be 5 mm increased front track each side. and try to find a set of four rears rign now. I tried the stock 19 rear on and it stuck out quite a bit.

Did you put TPMS in the new wheels??? Or does it just show a fault when the track wheels are on??

I'm also looking for a set of track wheels for a good price...the TR's seem to be the ticket!

no you just get a yellow warning fault- it goes away when the stock tires are put back on a driven a few hundred feet.

Of course, the safety advantage of knowing if a tire is going low on the track might be worth it!

Because Fangio could "feel" the force, which includes tire pressue...

I've been looking around, and this setup indeed seems to be rather appealing. The rims at that price/weight ratio rule for sure.

How durable are they though? Will they mind the bumps at the NHMS--the rough transitions between the Nascar circuit and road course?

That is why the system used in the Canadian cars makes a lot more sense than the TPMS system used in the US.At least it saves the cost of having a sensor in every wheel that is used for snow tires or the track. On my F150 it cost me almost $900 for the sensor setup for my aftermarket 20's and they had to be reprogrammed by the dealer with the fall or spring changeoverWhat a pain!

LOL!

on track I check tire pressure almost every time I go on and come off the track. SO I doubt I'll have any problem. if there is a massive blow out TPM wont save me. The reason TPM is required by law in the USA is beacuse stupid FOrd explorer owners never checked the air in thier Firestone tires until they blew out and killed themselves.

I am running them on the street a few days to get some heat cyles in them and scrub them in a bit. only about 6 to 8 mm of clearance to the strut but I am told this is ok. I will check for rubbing when they come off. you feel every pebble in the road with these tires - wow. actually had to run with EDC in comfort for the first time.

in bmwcca you can push the car, but they don't let others push you from the front or side... if you have a new m3 that's a good thing.

give us a report on the setup when you return from the track sayemthree, looks like i'll be ordering a similar setup.
